At the end of first chapter, O’s dad kept leaving messages to the phone when nobody’s answering the phone. It makes me think of the bridges his dad has mentioned, the story of New York’s six borough. His dad was looking for the bridges between him and his family. When he couldn’t find anyone answer that phone, he must felt disconnected. And I wonder why O didn’t answer the phone. O craves for connections. The connections between things and clues(playing that game with his dad), and the connection between him and the other people(he remembers all kinds of people’s names, and writing letters to a lot of people)
Yes, i think it is very important
