Here are my notes for chapter 4

  1. Wow Hannah, nice notes. I like how you labeled the characters names and underlined them so that they stood out and then wrote information about them underneath. I also liked how you included page numbers to make it a lot easier for you to go back into the book again and find those places that you highlighted in your notes. The spacing in your notes also helps to clearly read them. Overall great notes Hannah.

  2. Hiiiiiiiiii. I really like the way you organized the notes and put subheadings so we all knew what each part of your notes was going to be about. I also like the way you put little arrows, and the arrows make sense and help me follow your thought process and understand the way you got to a statement or a question. Really the only difference in our notes was that in mine I put a lot more focus on Nick being introduced to and intimidated by Mr. Wolfsheim, and how this was Gatsby's way of scaring Nick into doing what Jordan was going to ask him to do later. But I really like how neat and organized your notes are.

  3. Nice notes! I really like the way you spaced and organized your notes. Your handwriting makes it extremely easy for me to follow and read your notes! I liked how you got so much down for those quotes, it really allows you to find different ideas and evidence to support your assertion. For my notes I made my timeline horizontal so if we add more information to it as we read on it doesn't become crowded. Great Job!

  4. I agree with everyone else, your notes are very well organized. Very similar to mine as well. Like Trey, I also did my timeline horizontal so my notes wouldn't get crowded but that's just preference. Also, I found it interesting how your notes only focus on Gatsby and Mr. Woldsheim. Similar to Madi's notes, I had more of a variety of characters involved in my notes. It really shows what characters you have began focusing on, whether it be consciously or unconsciously. Overall very good notes.

  5. Really good notes Hannah! I like how you kept it simple, writing the important parts in our class discussion and making it easy to follow. I liked the arrows for their help in organizing your notes. Also great hand writing! You seem to be focusing on Gatsby's attempts at impressions as you include actions that he has done to display his power and wealth to Nick (power being the connection to Wolfsheim, a dangerous man, and wealth being the car that he was showing off). I particularly enjoyed the last question that you wrote down, which was "Why does Gatsby feel the need to do this?" This question can lead to many assertions and possible essay topics. Overall great job!

  6. Very good notes. I really like the arrows you used to connect different ideas and information we went over in class and read. The questions you made from using the text also allow you to have direct text to look back in the book for and use to support your ideas.I also think that crying text and pages for different characters is smart.
